Abbeys High School is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Form 4 student Tadiwa Chilanga, who emerged as the Public Speaking Champion at the prestigious St Ignatius College Invitational Debate and Public Speaking Tournament held on 23 May 2026.
The tournament attracted an impressive field of competitors, featuring 49 teams from 11 schools across the country. Participating schools included renowned institutions such as Wise Owl, Kutama College, Direct Contact, Goromonzi High School, Dominican Convent, and several others, making the competition both challenging and highly competitive.
Amidst this talented pool of speakers, Tadiwa demonstrated exceptional confidence, eloquence, critical thinking, and mastery of public speaking. His ability to engage the audience and deliver a compelling presentation set him apart from the competition, ultimately earning him first place in the Public Speaking Tournament.
